Boise State University’s Department of Public Safety is now leveraging license plate recognition technology on campus, which allows for more efficient monitoring of vehicles parked on campus.
Permitted parking on campus requires that a vehicle have two things: 1) display a valid zone permit, and 2) have a valid license plate registered. If a vehicle has only one or the other, that vehicle would be in violation of the parking regulations. All permit holders are required to have up-to-date license plate information for all vehicles parked on campus. This information can be viewed and updated in the NuPark portal.
If a parking permit is being transferred between multiple vehicles, ensure all vehicles are registered on the permit holder’s account. Up to 10 vehicles are permitted to be registered to a single account; however, the single permit allows only one vehicle to be parked on campus at a time.
In addition, please ensure all license plates listed on the account are accurate and up to date. If a “placeholder” was used, be sure to update to the actual license plate as soon as possible to avoid receiving a citation.
Parking permit account information may be accessed via boisestate.nupark.com/portal/.
